Privacy Policy
We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what we collect and how we use it.
Last updated: September 14, 2026 — draft for local evaluation
This development policy needs review before a public launch, especially before use by minors. This is a local demonstration, not an approved policy for real learner onboarding. AI features connect to the platform owner's configured external provider only through the explicitly described workflows below.
This Privacy Policy describes how Kogito Academy ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use our website and learning platform (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.
Information we collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account information — your name, email address, and password when you register.
- Learning activity — courses you enroll in, lesson and quiz progress, and certificates you earn.
- Lesson companion requests — questions you explicitly submit, saved replies, request status and usage audit details. These records are associated with your account.
Optional AI lesson companion
Opening the companion checks availability and loads your saved history; it does not send a question to AI. Enable AI learning once in the companion or your balance settings, then choose which questions to send. You can turn it off again at any time. The configured provider receives your question and the current lesson's reading, objective, prerequisites and worked example where present. Your profile, previous conversations, practice attempts and protected assessment answer keys are not included. Anything personal you type into a question is still part of what you send—do not include personal or sensitive information.
Kogito Academy stores questions and responses for your account's lesson history. The provider processes submitted content under its own terms and data practices; this platform does not promise provider-side zero retention. Closing the panel does not cancel an already sent request. AI replies may be inaccurate, do not grade learners and do not change published course material.
The owner's separate drafting studio sends reviewed course briefs to its configured provider. It does not attach student accounts, conversations or practice records.
How we use information
We also store your AI credit balance, welcome allowance, owner grants, temporary holds and completed charges so your learning balance can be checked and reconciled. Online payment top-ups are not enabled in this local version.
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Service;
- Track your learning progress and issue certificates;
- Communicate with you about your account and updates;
- Keep the platform secure and prevent abuse.
Sharing your information
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers who help us operate the platform, or where required by law. Verified certificates may display the recipient's name and course to anyone with the verification code.
Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Automatic retention periods and self-service account/conversation deletion are not implemented in this local demonstration. The owner must establish and verify these controls, a support channel and provider data arrangements before onboarding real learners.
Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information, and to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below.
